How Do I Qualify For Affordable Housing?

To be eligible for the La Junta/Otero County Housing Authority Housing Program, you must:
- Complete a rental pre-application with accurate information
- Meet income and occupancy guidelines set for each property
- Disclose all income and provide verifiable proof of income
- Prove US residency or legal temporary residency
- Pass a criminal background check
- Rent is based on income

Section 8 Vouchers

The La Junta/Otero County Housing
Authority has an open wait list for the
Section 8 programs. These vouchers (when
funding is available) can be used in Otero
County ( but not in the Rocky Ford city
limits) .
